When Banks engineers set out to design a Ram-Air intake for the 2017-19 Ford 6.7L Super Duty, they had one seemingly impossible challenge: to achieve higher air density at the turbo inlet than all competitors while keeping the airbox in the stock location behind the battery. As Power Stroke owners know, the battery is located near the front corner of the engine bay. This means air must pass above and/or below the battery to the airbox behind it. One of the competitors chose to relocate the battery by having the customer attach a piece of supplied angle-iron to the thin firewall, cantilevering it over the engine. In our opinion, the battery is much too heavy and poses a danger if it were to break loose and fall. After all, many trucks see off-road conditions. These requirements would set our Mechanical Engineering team on a year-long mission of design, research and development, and on and off-road testing.

It actively and safely optimizes calibrations in real-time thanks to its OBD-II connectivity. No competitive tuner does that. Derringer has 6 levels, adjustable on-the-fly using the iDash. Level 6 produces best-in-class performance. Level 3 is designed for work use and has a great mid-range feel. When running Level 3 with a loaded truck and/or pulling a trailer, your on-ramp merging speeds and passing times are greatly improved. The electronics are enclosed in a compact housing which is easily concealed and communicates with other Banks devices such as our iDash DataMonster, iDash SuperGauge, and PedalMonster throttle booster. Keep your Ram-Air Filter protected from large debris, bugs, mud, etc… Built from a breathable material, the Banks Pre-Filter simply goes over your air filter and provides additional protection and can even extend cleaning intervals. Works with both Dry and Oiled filters. Banks pre-filter wraps are designed to work with your Ram-Air intake system and are constructed from a polyester mesh with uniform micron openings. It improves the filtering of larger debris and dirt by preventing them from getting embedded into the filter. This allows your your Banks Ram-Air to breathe easier for longer by increasing the time between services. Its hydrophobic surface has been treated to repel water and improve performance in humid or wet environments. The pre-filter is able to resist heat up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and will not shatter in freezing temperatures.
