The Monster-Ram improves airflow from the intercooler. It flows 72.7 lbs/min MAF (Mass Air Flow) with Banks’ High-Flow Heater and Billet Intake Plate compared to stock’s 38.6 lbs/min MAF.
Monster-Ram raises boost without increasing backpressure at the turbine. The result is a more responsive, power-efficient engine that offers even more headroom than stock for higher horsepower applications.
The complete system
Bank’s High-Flow Heater and Billet Intake Plate complete the perfect system. The High-Flow Heater allows for the removal of the restrictive stock heater grid plate. The new vertical coil-style heater provides the same functionality for cold starts as the stock grid heater but without obstructing airflow. Replacing the restrictive stock grid heater plate with the Banks High-Flow Intake Plate removes all obstructions and turbulence in the airflow path.
How it was designed
Utilizing the latest in CFD (computational fluid-dynamics), tested on the flow bench, the dyno, and on-road, Monster-Ram is a beast that only Banks could have unleashed. A direct-replacement aluminum casting, Monster-Ram is instant power, performance, and acceleration gratification. The factory inlet elbow is cramped and angular in order to accommodate the path of the stock No. 1 fuel line. Banks Engineers designed a new No. 1 fuel line, allowing the Monster-Ram to flow more air without obstruction.
Expandable
With four 1/8 inch NPT ports, perfect for temperature and pressure sensors, the sky’s the limit for data acquisition.

When Banks engineers set out to design a Ram-Air intake for the 2017-19 Ford 6.7L Super Duty, they had one seemingly impossible challenge: to achieve higher air density at the turbo inlet than all competitors while keeping the airbox in the stock location behind the battery. As Power Stroke owners know, the battery is located near the front corner of the engine bay. This means air must pass above and/or below the battery to the airbox behind it. One of the competitors chose to relocate the battery by having the customer attach a piece of supplied angle-iron to the thin firewall, cantilevering it over the engine. In our opinion, the battery is much too heavy and poses a danger if it were to break loose and fall. After all, many trucks see off-road conditions. These requirements would set our Mechanical Engineering team on a year-long mission of design, research and development, and on and off-road testing.
